WORLD BOOK DAY

Actualizado: 19 may 2020

Welcome again guys! As you may know, today is World Book Day, and we want to use this post to recommend you some interesting books you may find useful to learn or perfect your English skills. If you click in the images of the cover, you'll be redirected to a link of Amazon, in case you want to buy them.

First of all, for those of you who are in the second year of high-school (our favourite audience, as you know), we recommend reading The Secret Garden, the version published by Burlington Books. The Secret Garden tells the story of Mary Lennox, a 10 year old girl who gets orphan and is set to live with her uncle. The vocabulary is quite easy to understand, and the story is interesting as well.

Another interesting book for those of you closer to an A2 level of English is “Eight Great American Tales”, by Bill Bowler and published by Oxford Books. This book is made of short stories, so it’s easy to just pick up and read whenever you have the time to do so.

Finally, in case you have approximately a B2 level of English, our personal recommendation would be The Great Gatsby, written by Scott Fitzgerald. We are not discovering America by recommending this book, as it is quite popular already, and it even has its’ own movie adaptation, but it is such a fascinating story, and it is so well written, that it would be a crime not to recommend it if you have not read it yet. In The Great Gatsby, Nick Carraway tells the story of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby, a young and mysterious millionaire, and his beloved one, Daisy Buchanan, set in the year 1922.

That’s been it for today, hope you find this recommendations interesting, and, if you follow them, tag us in Instagram or Facebook with a photo of you reading. We will love it! See you again soon!
